Bhubaneswar: The murderous attacks on former MLA Pranab Balbantray’s supporters in Dharamsala earlier today has triggered protests in Bhubaneswar, with senior BJD leaders staging demonstrations late at night to condemn what they termed as police inaction.
The protesters gathered in front of the DGP Camp Office, alleging that the Jajpur police have failed to arrest the miscreants responsible for unleashing widespread violence on supporters of Balbantray.
BJD leaders accused the administration of turning a blind eye to repeated incidents of lawlessness in Dharamsala, warning that continued inaction would only embolden criminal elements and further destabilise the region.
Former MLA Pranab Balbantray asserted that the agitation will continue until the police act decisively and bring the perpetrators to justice.
