Curfew imposed in key Cuttack zones for 36 hours from 10 pm today, check details
It is to be noted that earlier today a big bike rally had been organised in Cuttack.
Cuttack: Curfew has been imposed in Cuttack for 36 hours. The curfew has been started from 10 pm today and will remain in force till morning of Tuesday. This was informed by Commissioner of Police S Dev Datta Singh.
As per the information received, the decision has been taken following the tense situation in Cuttack. The curfew has been imposed in 13 Police Station jurisdictions. The areas where the curfew will remain imposed for 36 hours include Markat Nagar, Malgodam, Dargha Bazar, Mangalabag, Cantonment, Lalbag, Bidanasi, Jagatpur, Badambadi, CDA phase II, Purighat Thana and Bayalish Mouza areas.
It is to be noted that earlier today a big bike rally had been organised in Cuttack. However, according to Police since there was no permission of the rally, Police obstructed the protesters. Meanwhile the protesters and police faced off and police had to resort to mild lathi charge to disperse the violent protestors. A few police personnel including senior cops have sustained injury in this incident.
Accordingly, earlier internet and social media platforms had also been shut down in Cuttack.
