Bhubaneswar: The Christmas festivities have commenced in various churches of Odisha from Wednesday midnight. Decked up with twinkling lights, around several churches in the state sang harmonious carols while welcoming Jesus to Earth.

The city has come alive with festive fervour as Jesus was born from the womb of Mother Mary at midnight. With the birth of Jesus, the jingle bells started playing and the Christmas tree decked was shining with lights, gifts, and other accessories. The choirs started singing carols on the joyous occasion.

People kiss the feet of Jesus to seek his blessings. Many non-Christians were seen in the church for the celebration apart from the believers. The churches have also been crowded from the morning.

The Commissionerate police have made arrangements to control the crowd and traffic that was seen during Christmas.
