Jail DG suspends 2 officials over prisoners breaking jail, Rs 50,000 reward announced
The chief warder and another warder have been suspended in the Choudwar jail breaking incident in Cuttack district.
Cuttack: The Director General of the Choudwar Jail in Cuttack took disciplinary action in the incident of 2 prisoners escaping from Jail. The chief warder and another warder have been suspended.
The two prisoners escaped by cutting their blankets and joined that to make a long rope. Jail DG Sushant Nath gave information in this regard.
Various cultural programs were organized in the jail for Dussehra. All the employees were busy in the Dussehra program. Taking advantage of this, the two prisoners escaped by jumping over the wall of Cuttack Chaudwar Jail.
Two prisoners from Choudwar Jail have been identified as Chandrakant and Vikas Kumar. They robbed a gold shop in Panikoili area.
During the robbery, they opened fire on the jewelry shop. One person was killed in the shooting.
The officials have announced Rs 50,000 for given information about the runaway prisoners.
