Chhendipada Additional Tahasildar and peon apprehended while taking Rs 9,000 bribe

The Vigilance officials nabbed the Additional Tahasildar and peon while taking a bribe of Rs 9,000 from a pleader of a client for passing favourable order in mutation cases as per orders of the competent Court for transfer of the land in the name of his client under Chhendipada Tahasil.

However, the Tahasildar Tahasildar was not doing the work and delaying the process for no cause. Instead, he demanded bribe Rs 9,000 for the purpose.

Being aggrieved over the matter, the pleader reported the matter to vigilance authorities. Upon receiving this information, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Nayak and Sahu today while taking bribe Rs 9,000 from the pleader.

The entire tainted bribe money has been seized from the duo.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Nayak and one location of Sahu from Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.39 dtd.30.12.2025, U/s-7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against both the accused persons namely Nayak and Sahu.
