Burla VSSUT girl student assault: Accused Final Year student arrested
The victim girl student had lodged an FIR at Burla Police Station in this regard
Sambalpur: In the matter of assault to a girl student of the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), in Burla of Sambalpur district in Odisha the accused final year student has been arrested and forwarded to the Court. He was produced in court late at night.
According to the Police complaint lodged at Burla Police Station, a final year student of VSSUT was accused of assaulting a girl student of the same University. The final year B. Tech student was allegedly beaten up by another male student outside the campus in front of everyone on Tuesday.
As per reports, the girl student had gone to the rented house of the accused student. There was a verbal spat between the two there. Later, the girl student was severely beaten up by the accused male student.
It has been learned that the accused student had also been expelled from the hostel earlier for indiscipline.
Regarding this, the girl student had lodged a complaint at Burla police station. Accordingly, Police initiated probe and today the accused student was arrested.
