Bhubaneswar taxi driver death in Chandaka forest: 4 arrested

Police investigation revealed that he died at a coaching centre in Jajpur and later his body was brought to Chandaka

Bhubaneswar: In the case of a taxi driver death, whose body was found from Chandaka forest on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, Commissionerate Police have uncovered how the crime took place. In a press meet today  Police Commissioner Dev Dutta Singh informed in details how the driver was killed and how the body came to Chandaka.

As per police, the accused persons created a situation which made the deceased to commit suicide. He purportedly committed suicide at a coaching centre of Jajpur. However, following his death, the accused persons brought the body to Chandaka forest and threw there in such a way so that it looks like a case of self-killing. The accused persons also tried to destroy evidence, Police said.

Police investigation into the incident revealed that the taxi driver Vidyadhar Sahu allegedly defrauded some people by taking money and documents from them with the false promise of providing job. However, after knowing the truth the fraud victims demanded money from him, which ultimately led to the death. The incident took place after the money was not returned.

It has also been clarified that a woman was also involved. Further investigation of the case is underway.

Among the accused persons is the father of a job aspirant and three job seekers who purportedly gave money to the taxi driver.

The police commissioner said that the accused have been arrested for kidnapping, torture, abetment to suicide, destruction of evidence and illegal money laundering for jobs.
