Bhubaneswar: Shikhar Chandi hill, a popular tourist spot, has reopened for visitors after a six-day closure due to the presence of two tusked elephants. The hill’s entrance gate was reopened this morning, allowing tourists and devotees to go to the site.

The elephants, which had been camping on the hill since last Saturday, were chased back into the Bharatpur Reserve Forest by forest officials last night, bringing relief to local villagers who had been living in fear.

With the hill now safe, tourists and devotees are flocking to Shikhar Chandi to offer prayers and enjoy the natural surroundings, making it a perfect start to the New Year. Visitors can once again explore the hill and take in the scenic views, breathing a sigh of relief after the elephant sighting.
