Baranga: The Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) is celebrating its 66th Foundation Day on Monday in the capital city of Odisha. The zoo was established on this day in 1960. This year, the celebration is being held with great enthusiasm.

On this occasion, Forest and Environment Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia will grace the event. He is scheduled to inaugurate several new animal enclosures at the zoo.

The minister will inaugurate the North-East eastern panoroma, small wild cat enclosure, glass-fronted leopard enclosure, Asian palm civet and pangolin enclosures, horticulture unit, herbivore quarantine centre and reptile quarantine centre.

Besides, the naming ceremony of animal cubs born at the zoo will also be held. This includes tiger cubs, lion cubs, chimpanzee cubs and Himalayan black bear cubs.

Employees who have shown excellence in their work will be honored by the guests.

After the inauguration of the new enclosures, visitors will be able to enjoy more attractions at the zoo and get a chance to see new animals.
