Bhubaneswar: Miscreant abuses girl after breaking into ladies hostel

Bhubaneswar: A miscreant broke into a ladies hostel in the capital city of Odisha yesterday late in the night and abused a girl. The incident took place at a PG (Paying Guest) women’s hostel in Shailashree Vihar area of Bhubaneswar.
As per information, a miscreant entered the women’s hostel building by jumping the gate and tricking the security guard. He somehow reached the first floor and dragged a girl who was sleeping in her room in the hoste. As the girl woke up, she screamed. But the miscreant had closed the room from inside, so nobody could came to the girl’s help. However, the roommate of the girl, who was then in the washroom, came out of the washroom and both of them tried to drive the miscreant out of the room. In this scuffle the two girls have sustained injury as the miscreant attacked them with a sharp weapon.
Later, out of fear, the hostel residents kept watch at night with sticks in hand.
Later, the victim girl lodged a complaint in this connection and police reached the hostel and initiated investigation at the scene. Chandrashekharpur police are examining the CCTV footage and questioning the hostel owner. Further probe of the matter is underway.
