Bhubaneswar: In a major success, the Bhubaneswar Excise team today seized brown sugar worth Rs 27 lakh from near the Forest Park in the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar on Saturday evening. Three people have been arrested in this connection. The Excise team caught them while an illegal deal was in progress inside the Forest park.

The three arrested accused have been identified as Sukant Nayak, Santosh Nayak, and Devi Prasad Das. One of these accused is a Law student.

As per information received, the excise team arrested three people with 265 grams of brown sugar from them.

The Excise department had been tracking this racket for four months. It has been learnt that this racket was supplying drugs to college students and other educated persons.

According to the Excise supervisor, this gang was supplying drugs to engineering students and children from sophisticated families.

They were arrested while they were roaming in the deserted jungles of Forest Park. One of them is a murder accused, while the other had been released from jail two months ago and was involved in similar activities. After the arrest, all the accused have been forwarded to the Court.
