Betrayed by boyfriend, nursing student commits suicide in Odisha
Betrayed by her boyfriend, a 21-year-old nursing student allegedly committed suicide at MV-13 village of Odisha’s Malkangiri district this morning.
Malkangiri: Betrayed by her boyfriend, a 21-year-old nursing student allegedly committed suicide at MV-13 village of Odisha’s Malkangiri district this morning.
As alleged by the father of the deceased girl, she was in a love relationship with a youth whom he identified as Sujay, a resident of MV-60 village of the district.
Sujay had allegedly promised to marry her after both their families came to know about their relationship. However, there was a heated argument between the lovebirds over some unknown reasons, following which Sujay allegedly denied to tie the knot with her.
Being rejected and deceived by Sujay after getting into relationship, the final-year student was mentally so disturbed that she consumed pills with the aim to end her life. However, she was rushed to the Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital and was discharged last night after undergoing treatment.
However, to everyone’s surprise she hanged herself in the house following which the family members immediately rushed her to the hospital again but the doctors declared her dead and sent the body for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, the deceased girl’s father demanded stricter action against Sujay and filed a police complaint against him. Based on this, cops have started an investigation into the matter.
The girl’s death has shocked and surprised the local residents.
