In his address on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Ganjam and Berhampur cities are the heart of South Odisha. The development of Ganjam district is very important for the development of Odisha. Therefore, 10 important roads will be constructed to improve connectivity in Berhampur city and nearby areas and Rs 52 crore and 17 lakh will be spent for this. This will help in improving the ease of living and traffic system of the city, he expected.

The CM announced that like all important cities in the country, the area of ​​Berhampur city will be expanded and it will be made Greater Berhampur City and directed the district administration to prepare the necessary DPR for this. Town Planning or TP Scheme will be implemented in the city to provide all basic services in a planned manner. Currently, programs have been prepared for two TP Schemes. The Chief Minister said that this will not only develop good urban infrastructure in the outskirts of the city, but also benefit the landowners.

Seeing the fame of local food in Berhampur city, Food Street will be constructed at various places in the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) area. Many more new projects will be implemented in the coming days for the development of this city.

He announced that the role of Berhampur city and Ganjam district will be of utmost importance in building a prosperous Odisha.

Similarly, a 6-lane road will be built connecting Berhampur-Jaipur, for which Rs 6000 crore will be spent. The Chief Minister said that the process for this is underway.

On this occasion, Majhi was emotional as he recalled his teaching days and said that whenever I come to Saraswati Vidya Mandir, it feels like my home. This school is famous in the state for its good learning environment and quality education.

Saraswati Vidya Mandir does not only produce talented students, it also produces good citizens by teaching students about Indian culture and traditions, he added.

Majhi further said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, we have implemented the New Education Policy 2020 in Odisha. We are going to start the state curriculum framework based on the national curriculum framework to increase creativity and self-reliance among the students. We have implemented the Godabarisha Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Yojana to provide quality education to children at the primary level.

Under the Godabarisha Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Yojana, one school will be established in each panchayat. Approval has been given for 2200 schools in the first phase.

Besides, a single board will be formed by merging the Secondary Education Board and the Higher Secondary Education Board in the CBSE and ICSE framework. This will further increase the quality of education, the CM stated.

He further said that we are giving importance to the recruitment of qualified teachers and creating the necessary infrastructure for teaching. To overcome the shortage of teachers in the state, we have taken steps to create 45,000 teacher posts in 3 years. We have decided to provide free text books to children up to class 10 from the next academic year. Our government is working with commitment to develop the education sector in the state. A record amount of more than Rs 31,000 crore has been allocated in the budget this year for primary education alone. Our government will never let financial constraints stop us from providing quality education to children and building a bright future for them.
