Barang Additional Tahasildar Jitendra Kumar Panda arrested for possessing DA to the tune of 298%
Jitendra Kumar Panda, the Additional Tahasildar of Barang in Cuttack district has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance in disproportionate assets (DA) case.
Cuttack: Jitendra Kumar Panda, the Additional Tahasildar of Barang in Cuttack district has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance for possessing disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 298%.
Based on searches conducted on properties of Panda, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 298% of his known sources of income, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets worth crores were unearthed in the name of Jitendra Kumar Panda and his family members;
- One triple storeyed building with area 4000 Sqft. over Plot No.3293, Sub-plot-C, Khata No.1494/1253 located at Gopaluni Nagar, Badagada, Bhubaneswar-35.
- Another triple storeyed building with area 4000 Sqft. located LB-187, Badagada Brit Colony, Bhubaneswar.
- One 2 BHK flat with area approx 1250 Sqft at Uttara, Bhubaneswar.
- One double storeyed building with area 4800 Sqft. over plot No326/1151/1357, Khata No.277/444 at Sanapalla, Khordha.
- 4 high value plots including 3 in posh area of Bhubaneswar & 1 in Khordha town.
- Gold jewellery 560 gms.
- Cash Rs.73.66 Lakhs.
- Bank & Insurance deposits worth Rs.36.97 Lakhs.
- 1 four wheeler (KIA Seltos) & 4 two wheelers worth around Rs.23.41 Lakhs.
- Household articles worth around Rs.16 Lakhs.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Jitendra Kumar Panda were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 298% in excess of his known sources of income.
In this connection, Vigilance Cell PS case No.12/2025 was registered against the Barang Additional Tahasildar following which he was arrested.
Further investigation is underway.
