Cuttack: Barabati Cuttack MLA Sofia Firdous expressed her deep sadness over the clash that occurred during the idol immersion in the Dargha Bazar area of Cuttack. She strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict action against those responsible.
“The police administration should identify the troublemakers at the earliest and take strict action so that justice can be served to the people of Cuttack,” she said.
Sofia emphasized the need to analyze where things went wrong and take corrective measures to prevent such incidents in the future. She highlighted Cuttack’s reputation for “Bhaichara” (brotherhood), which is not just a word but a way of life for its residents.
“We are born and raised in this environment of brotherhood, where every resident of a ‘sahi’ (neighborhood) considers others as their own family members,” she added.
The MLA narrated about the harmonious coexistence in Cuttack, where people celebrate festivals together, illuminate their homes during functions, and live like one big family. She expressed respect for the community’s traditions and elders, known as “Murabis.”
The MLA appealed to everyone to join hands in re-establishing the “Bhaichara” culture in Cuttack, ensuring peace and harmony prevail in the city.
