Bancho GP PEO Jitendra Kumar Jena arrested for possessing 139 percent of disproportionate assets

Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Jitendra Kumar Jena, the PEO of Bancho GP under Hatadihi Block in Keonjhar district for possession of disproportionate assets (DA).

Keonjhar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Jitendra Kumar Jena, the PEO of Bancho GP under Hatadihi Block in Keonjhar district for possession of disproportionate assets (DA).

The Vigilance sleuths arrested the Bancho GP PEO for possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 139% of his known sources of income, which he could not account for satisfactorily.

After his arrest, Jena was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar.

In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No.20 dated 31.12.2025 was registered against the PEO and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC (Amendment) Act,2018.

During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets worth crores were unearthed in the name of Jitendra Kumar Jena and his family members;

  • One triple storeyed building with area 3300 Sqft. located over plot No.408/2390/6388 located at Biranchipur, Hatadihi, Keonjhar.
  • One newly constructed double storeyed market complex with area 5000 Sqft. at Jagannathpur mouza, Basantia Bazar, Hatadihi, Keonjhar worth over Rs 1.34 crore.
  • Two Nos. of rented godown of Maa Saraswati Sales, at Basantia Bazar, Hatadihi, Keonjhar where articles kept in godown worth Rs.1.14 Crore unearthed.
  • One electronics shop “Saraswati Sales” at Bidyadharpur.
  • 6 Nos. of plots including 3 at Chandia, Biranchipur, Hatadihi & 3 in Jagannathpur mouza, Basantia Bazar, Hatadihi, Keonjhar.
  • Gold jewellery 100 gms
  • Bank & Insurance deposits worth Rs 33.01 Lakh.
  • 1 four wheeler (Maruti Ertiga) and 2 two wheelers worth around Rs 11.32 Lakh.
  • Household articles worth around Rs 4 Lakh.
