Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series 2025: 3 from KISS included in Indian Team, Dumuni Marndi named vice-captain

Bhubaneswar: In a proud achievement for the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), three women rugby players from the institution have been selected to represent India in the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series 2025, to be held from 18th to 19th October 2025 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU) announced the Senior Women’s Squad on October 9, 2025, featuring Dumuni Marndi (Vice-Captain), Nirmalya Rout, and Tarulata Naik — all from KISS and Sandhyarani Tudu from Mayurbhanj.

The players have been attending a National Coaching Camp at the SAI Netaji Subhas Eastern Centre, Kolkata, from 22nd September to 14th October 2025, under the guidance of Rugby India.

Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT, KISS & KIMS, congratulated the players for their outstanding achievement and wished them and the Indian team success in the upcoming championship.
