All government, government-aided and private schools in Malkangiri district will remain closed tomorrow (on Saturday) in view of IMD’s prediction for heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Malkangiri: All government, government-aided and private schools in Malkangiri district will remain closed tomorrow (on Saturday) in view of IMD’s prediction for heavy to very heavy rainfall.
As per the order of the district collector, the decision to close all the schools tomorrow has been taken with the aim to avoid any untoward situation and keeping the safety of the children in mind.
However, the Head Masters/Head Mistress, Teachers and other staffs shall remain present in their respective institutions as usual.
“Whereas, the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorm and lightening in the district on 27th September, 2025. And whereas, there has been continuous rainfall in various parts of this district leading to situation, which may be difficult for young children to navigate,” read the official order.
“Therefore, to avoid any untoward situation and keeping the safety of the children in mind, the undersigned hereby declares closure of all the Govt., Aided and Private Schools of this district. However, the Head Masters/Head Mistress, Teachers and other staffs shall remain present in their respective institutions as usual,” it added.
This is the second consecutive days that the schools will remain closed for the students. The institutions were remained closed today for the same weather forecast by the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department.
Heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi and Nuapada, said the weather department.
