Udala: An eight foot long python has been rescued in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Wednesday. The huge snake was rescued from the backyard of a house in Kanrapal village under Udala Police Station limits.
As per the information, the python was trapped in a fishing net spread in the backyard of Gauranga Madhei of Kanrapal village.
After noticing the huge snake the villagers got scared. Accordingly, they informed the Forest Department. However, before the forest department arrived, a local youth rescued the said python.
Upon measurement it was observed that the snake was 8 feet long.
Later, as the Forest department officials reached the spot, the villagers handed the snake over to them. It has been learnt that the forest officials later released the snake at a lonely place into its natural habitat in the nearby forest.
