5000 diyas to be lit for Navratri at Maa Samaleswari temple, check details here
Navratri is just two days away for which, 5000 diyas will be lit up in Maa Samaleswari's temple in Sambalpur.
Sambalpur: As Navratri is round the corner, the Sodasa Upachar Puja and other rituals are being held at various Shakti Peethas in Odisha. Navratri will begin from September 22 for which Maa Samaleswari shrine will see an influx of devotees. As many as 5,000 diyas will be lit in the shrine of the revered Goddess of Sambalpur during Navratri.
Similarly, preparations are underway at the temple of Maa Samaleswari for the holy Mahalaya and Navaratri. On Mahalaya, Maa Samaleswari will give darshan to devotees in the Dhabalmukhi Besha. After Mangala Aalati at 4:30 am in the morning, darshan for the devotees will begin at 5 am in the morning.
On the other hand, darshan will be closed from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm for the Anna Bhog. Similarly, darshan will be closed from 7:45 pm to 8:30 pm for the evening Maha Aalati. At 10:30 pm, the temple doors will be closed and the Pahad ritual will be performed. On Mahalaya, the vermillion colour of Maa Samaleswari (Sindhurbarna) takes on a pure white form. This Dhabalmukhi Besha of the Maa is also called Ganga Darshan Besha.
