5 month-old baby survives, parents die in tragic road accident in Jajpur
A five month-old baby survived while his parents died in a tragic accident on Chandikhol-Duburi National Highway 53 in Jajpur.
Jajpur: A five month-old baby survived while his parents died in a tragic accident on Tuesday. The accident took place near the Brahmani Bridge on Chandikhol-Duburi National Highway 53 in Jajpur district. The injured baby has been shifted to a children’s hospital for treatment.
According to sources, the deceased couple is from the Pankapal village.
After the accident, the agitated locals blocked the National Highway by burning tires for more than 3 hours, which resulted in hundreds of vehicles stuck on both sides of the road. The protesting locals have demanded compensation for the families of the deceased. They have also demanded the completion of the National Highway expansion work at the earliest.
Kalinganagar police and administration reached the spot and mediated with the protesters and cleared the road.
