5 killed, many passengers critical in bus-truck collision in Sundargarh district

Bonai: In a tragic incident, as many as five passengers were killed while many others turned critical following a bus-truck collision in Sundargarh district of Odisha. The accident took place on the National Highway number 520 in Koida Block area under K Balang Police station limits.

As per reports, private passenger bus ‘Lingaraj” met with an accident while it was on its way to Koida from Rourkela. The bus collided with a truck head-on that was coming from the opposite side.

Accordingly, 5 people were killed while many passengers also turned critical. After getting information Police and Fire Services Department personnel reached the spot and initiated the rescue operation. By the time this report was written, the trapped bus passengers were being rescued after cutting the window glasses of the bus.

The critical passengers have been shifted to Rourkela for advanced treatment as their health condition further deteriorated.
