130 bottles of Coldrif cough syrup seized from Bargarh
A special team from Bhubaneswar seized the said cough syrup from Bhatli chhaka area.
Bargarh: As many as 130 bottles of Coldrif cough syrup seized in Bargarh district of Odisha on Tuesday. A special team from Bhubaneswar seized the said cough syrup from Bhatli chhaka area.
As per the information, the cough syrup was seized from a distributor in Nigamananda Vihar in Bargarh town. The raid was carried out on the orders of the Drugs Controller in Bhubaneswar.
It was informed that Coldrif cough syrup came to Bargarh city from Tamil Nadu. Out of the 130 bottles of Coldrif cough syrup seized, 4 bottles of Coldrif cough syrup will be sent for testing. The other 126 bottles of Coldrif cough syrup will be produced in court, Assistant Drugs Controller Dr. Sudarshan Vishal has informed.
There were allegations of more than 11 deaths of children in Madhya Pradesh due to consumption of Coldrif cough syrup. The government has banned children below the age of 4 from consuming Coldrif cough syrup.
