Puri: A 100-page answer has been given to ISKCON for untimely Snana Yatra and Rath Yatra. In this regard, the Gajapati Maharaj of Puri of Odisha today said that ISKCON has been given a month’s time to follow the tradition as per the prescription. If not followed, we will take refuge in the law.
Also, Chief Administrator of SJTA, Puri Arabinda Padhee lamented that ISKCON has been violating the scriptures for decades and has been observing untimely Rath Yatra and Snana Yatra.
Gajapati Maharaj said that ISKCON’s Govardhan Das Maharaj has been given a 100-page document by the Srimandira Management Committee. After reading it, it will be understood how many big mistakes have been made in about 50 years.
This yatra was started by Sila Prabhupada. At first, it was done according to the prescribed policies. Later, after his demise, ISKCON is conducting this anti-policy things.
This year, ISKCON has conducted Rath Yatra at 68 places on other Tithi. There were many discussions with ISKCON in this regard. ISKCON India had taken a decision on 21 July 2021 that Rath Yatra is being organized within the prescribed time. However, it is being celebrated irregularly outside the country.
After much research, it is reported that Snana Yatra has been organized in 40 places in India and abroad till July. Rath Yatra should be conducted only during the Jyestha Purnima and Navadinatmaka Yatra.
Mahaprabhu Jagannath himself has decided that when this will happen, Gajapati Maharaj said. He has taken the decision to conduct Rath Yatra in the Asadha Shuklapakhya. This has also been written in the Srimad Bhagavatam by the great Rishi Veda Vyasa. How these precious prescriptions can be set aside, he said.
According to Skanda Purana and Brahma Purana, the work is performed in the temple according to the rules. This should be followed by everyone.
ISKCON says that the four idols are moving idols. But how Lord Jagannath can be moving idols ‘Chalanti Pratima’, Gajapati asked.
What is written about Tithi in the Purana (mythological book) is applicable to the entire universe. All the yatras should be completed according to the Tithi. ISKCON should take a good decision on this within a month. For this, Gajapati said to discuss with the foreign temple authorities and take action according to the rules. If they do not follow the rules and traditions, then he said that refuge in the law will be taken.
