Banapur: A 10-foot-long python was rescued from the Banapur police station premises in Khordha district of Odisha on Wednesday. Snake helpline staff reached the spot and rescued the snake, later releasing it into the Barbara forest at a secluded location.
According to reports, police staff had spotted the python roaming around the Banapur police station premises for some time but were unable to rescue it.
Today, they saw the snake lying on the bank of a pond near the premises and informed the Snake Helpline.
Shubham Mohapatra from the Snake Helpline arrived and rescued the python, which was about 10 feet long and weighed around 20 kg.
It was later released into the Barbara forest near Banapur.
