Patnagarh: In a tragic incident, there has been an accident in Bolangir district of Odisha in which one person has been killed and as many as seven people have been critically injured.

The accident took place on Sambalpur NH 26 near Jamsar. Late last night, a Bolero hit a truck standing on the roadside. As a result, one person died and seven others were seriously injured. The deceased has been identified as Kaviram Jagat.

According to information, eight people including the driver had gone to Burla with two patients from Tumura village in Kalahandi district. After treatment, everyone was returning to their village in the Bolero.

But the Bolero came at a high speed near Jamsar in Bolangir and hit the truck. As a result, a person named Kaviram Jagat died and seven others were seriously injured.

The fire brigade and the police rescued the seriously injured and first admitted them to the district headquarters hospital in Balangir. However, as the condition of the seven people was critical, they were referred to Bhimbhoi Medical College Hospital. The Puintala police have started an investigation into the incident.
