Woman molested, slapped for refusing advances by Instagram friend!
A 22-year-old Bengaluru woman was allegedly assaulted and harassed by her Instagram friend in broad daylight
Bengaluru: A woman was molested and slapped in the middle of the road in broad daylight in Bengaluru. The CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.
As per reports, the incident occurred on December 22, 2025 when the woman was standing along with her friend by the side of a scooty, the accused arrived at the scene in a car. Then, he can be seen snatching the woman’s purse and checking before groping her and assaulting her repeatedly, hitting and dragging her on the road.
Later, the victim woman lodged an FIR in this matter.
According to the FIR, Naveen Kumar (the man in the video) and the victim woman became acquainted through Instagram in 2024. Later, they remained in regular contact via phone calls and messages. And the day before yesterday this incident took place.
It has been alleged that the accused groped and assaulted the woman for refusing his advances as he was pressuring her to enter into a relationship, which she resisted.
The police have registered a case on the basis of the FIR and took the accused into custody. Further investigation of the matter is underway.
