A woman was caught on camera brutally assaulting her elderly mother-in-law in Gurdaspur, the video has gone viral on social media
Gurdaspur(Punjab): In a heart-breaking incident, a woman was caught on camera brutally assaulting her elderly mother-in-law in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. the video has gone viral on social media.
In the video, the daughter-in-law Harjeet Kaur is seen pulling the mother-in-law Gurbajan Kaur’s hair, slapping her repeatedly and hitting her with steel glasses twice.
When her son begs her to let go of his grandmother, she does so but keeps abusing her. “Tu k***i aa(Are you a bi**h?)” Harjeet Kaur asks her mother-in-law, pushing her to the couch.
The entire assault video has been recorded on victim’s grandson phone and was seen saying “Mumma leave her.”
Old helpless mother was beaten up by the daughter in law in Gurdaspur . Sou Moto was issued immediately and strict action will be taken.

As per sources, Harjeet Kaur has been physically and mentally harassing her some time and the cause of the incident is a property dispute.
According to Gurbachan Kaur, her daughter-in-law has been pressuring the family to transfer property in her name.
Following the circulation of the video, a complaint was filed. The Punjab Women’s Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of the incident and written to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gurdaspur. The Commission has requested that the matter be investigated by a senior police officer and has sought an action taken report by October 2.
Later, the police launched an investigation and confirmed that the video is not fake and it will be treated as key evidence.
