Tragic! Telangana Engineering Student Killed By Girlfriend’s Family With Bat
Engineering student was allegedly beaten to death by his girlfriend’s family after being called to discuss their marriage in Telangana
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a second-year engineering student was allegedly beaten to death by his girlfriend’s family after being called to discuss their marriage in Telangana’s Sangareddy district.
The victim, Jyothi Sravan Sai, was a second-year B.Tech student, studying Computer Science and Engineering at St Peter’s Engineering College in Maisammaguda. He lived in a rented house in Qutbullapur while pursuing his studies.
The couple Sravan had been in a relationship with Sreeja, a 19-year-old resident of Isukabavi in Beeramguda and they had faced resistance from girl’s side family.
Earlier, Sreeja’s parents had previously warned Sravan multiple times to end the relationship. On the day of the incident, they had invited him to their home under the pretext of discussing the couple’s marriage. When Sravan arrived, in a fit of rage, the family members allegedly launched a sudden attack, during which Sreeja’s mother reportedly beat him with a cricket bat.
Sravan sustained severe injuries to his head, along with fractures to his leg and ribs. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kukatpally, where he was declared dead.
Later, the Ameenpur Police have registered a murder case and recovered the cricket bat used in the attack. They have sent the body for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, the police have started a probe to know the exact motive behind the attack.
