New Delhi: The Supreme Court has directed the West Bengal government to pay 25% DA (Dearness Allowance) to State government employees said reliable reports on Friday.

According to reports, a bench of Justices Sanjay Karol and Sandeep Mehta issued an interim order directing the West Bengal government to make the payment within three months and posted the matter to be heard next in August.

Earlier today, teachers protest outside Bikash Bhawan against the CM Mamata Banerjee-led State Government over 26,000 teachers losing their jobs in connection with the SSC recruitment case, following a Supreme Court judgment which held that the whole appointment process was tainted.

Last night, several teachers were injured as a clash erupted between protesting SSC teachers and police personnel in front of Bikash Bhawan, after the Police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the massive crowd.
