Pregnant woman was stabbed to death by her ex live-in partner in Delhi after which her husband overpowered and killed the attacker
New-Delhi: In a shocking incident, a pregnant woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her former live-in partner in Delhi’s Nabi Karim area, after which her husband overpowered and killed the attacker.
The deceased were identified as 22-year-old Shalini and 34-year-old Aashu alias Shailendra.
As per reports, Shalini was traveling to meet her mother along with her husband Aakash on Qutub Road. when her ex Aashu suddenly appeared and attacked Aakash with a knife at around 10.15 pm . Aakash avoided the first attempt, but Aashu ran towards Shalini while she was seated in an e-rickshaw, stabbed her multiple times.
Shalini’s brother Rohit and some local residents took all three to a hospital, where doctors declared Shalini and Aashu dead, while Aakash is currently receiving treatment, police said.
During inquiry, it was found that Shalini was pregnant at the time of her death.
Following a complaint from Shalini’s mother, the police have registered a case under sections related to serious harm and attempted harm under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Nabi Karim Police Station.
