The Bengaluru man who killed his wife was caught after the victim's 15-year-old daughter raised a suspicion and informed the police.
Bengaluru: An unfortunate incident unfolded after a 32-year-old was caught for killing his wife who he had met from Instagram only 9 months ago.
He staged her death and projected it as a natural death due to electrocution. She was found dead in the bathroom of her apartment on October 15. The accused has been identified as a resident of Vijayanagara district. He met the victim nine months ago on Instagram.
The victim was a widow and had a 15-year-old daughter. Nine months ago, she met the accused through Instagram. Soon after they married.
He told the victim’s parents that got an electric shock due to the water heater and died. But the victim’s daughter said that the couple had quarreled the previous day.
She also said that after she returned home in the evening, she found the door of the bathroom locked.
Later after interrogation, the man confessed to strangling his wife as he suspected the woman of having extramartial affairs. Thus he planned it in such a way to make it look like a natural death.
