Rajasthan: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) announced the final results of the RAS 2023 examination on Wednesday with Kushal Chaudhary, a farmer’s son from Dungaria Kalan village in Ajmer, securing the first rank.

According to the reports, candidates from Ajmer and Nagaur districts dominated the top positions with three from each district making it to the top 10. Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Hanumangarh and Bikaner districts also had one candidate each in the top 10.

Kushal, who works as a lab assistant at a government school in Tabiji and lives in the police line quarters, prepared independently and cleared the exam on his second attempt. Coming from a farming family, his achievement has inspired many rural youth across Rajasthan to aim for government service despite limited resources.

Vikas Siyag from Kolayat, Bikaner secured the 10th position. He reportedly serves as a junior assistant at the Government Senior Secondary School in Ranjitpura. His father is a truck driver and farmer and his mother is a homemaker. Like Kushal, Vikas also cleared the exam on his second attempt after failing to pass the mains in RAS 2021.

RPSC reportedly conducted interviews for 2,188 candidates, concluding on October 14. The recruitment drive, announced on June 28, 2023, will result in the appointment of 972 new officers across Rajasthan. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma congratulated the successful candidates.
