Inhumane! Elderly man dragged and slapped out of hospital by doctor in Madhya Pradesh
The incident of the elderly man being dragged and slapped by a doctor in MP was investigated by an internal committee and action was taken
Chhatarpur: In an inhumane act, a 77-year-old man was dragged, slapped and thrown out of a district hospital in Chhatarpur of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. The video of the cruel act is going viral on social media, prompting authorities to intervene.
According to reports, the elderly man had skip allegedly skipped a queue at the concerned hospital in MP. The incident took place around 11.30 am. The elderly man has been identified as Udhavlal Joshi, a resident of Naugaon. He had taken his wife to the Out patient Department (OPD) for her treatment.
Dr. Rajesh Mishra was in the duty at that time. After waiting for a long time, Joshi requested the doctor to examine sooner, which turned into a heated argument. As the altercation escalated, Dr Mishra and another man, identified as a Red Cross worker, dragged the elderly out of the OPD. The video was recorded during the time and soon went viral on social media.
We can also see the doctor slapping Joshi who was in a helpless state. Several media agencies reported that, Joshi said that he waited in the queue have a valid appointment but was dragged by the doctors.
As the matter went out of hands, a probe committee was formed to enquire into the matter. GL Ahirwar, a civil surgeon investigated the matter and confirmed that Dr Mishra was assaulting the elderly. He also said that a case will be filed against the doctor and proceedings for his termination have been initiated.
