India Pakistan tensions: Special trains are being operated, PR Railway Board

Special trains are being operated in border areas in coordination with the local administration in wake of increased India Pakistan tension.

New Delhi: In the wake of the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian Railways has decided to run a number of special trains on Saturday.

According to reports, Dilip Kumar, Executive Director, Information and Publicity Department, Railway Board informed about these special trains. Dilip Kumar said, “Trains are being operated in border areas in coordination with the local administration. We have started operating special trains. Yesterday, we ran six trains from Jammu, Udhampur, and Ferozepur.”

He further added, “Today, we have also decided to run six trains, which include special trains from Amritsar to Chhapra, Chandigarh to Lucknow, Ferozepur to Patna, Udhampur to New Delhi and Jammu to New Delhi.”

“Our effort is to run as many trains as possible during the day. We are also running trains at night. For this, we are in close coordination with the local administration,” he said as he concluded.
