Fight between Vande Bharat catering staff at Delhi station, IRCTC suspends four workers

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a fight broke out between the catering staff of Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express in Delhi. The incident occurred in Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station.
According to the reports, the fight started over a small disagreement about where to keep a water box inside the train. The argument then quickly turned into a physical fight.
Visuals of the incident have now gone viral on social media. The clip shows several men throwing dustbins swinging belts and punching each other, while others try to stop them.
Police reportedly stated that no one filed a formal complaint and both partied settled the matter in writing. However, since the incident took place on railway property, a case was still registered at the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station Police Station.
In response, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) issued a statement on X saying that the matter was being taken very seriously. “Four staff of service provider have been detained by RPF authorities for further investigation. All four staff’s ID cards have been deactivated and they have been derostered,” IRCTC wrote.
Further, it added, “A show cause notice for termination of contract has been issued to service provider and a hefty penalty of Rs 5 lakh has been imposed.”
