Drunk passenger held for misbehaving with cabin crew in Delhi-Kolkata Indigo flight

The passenger seated in 31D was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, misbehaved with the cabin crew on the IndiGo Delhi-Kolkata flight.

Kolkata: A passenger onboard the IndiGo flight 6E 6571 operating from Delhi to Kolkata on September 1 created a drama and misbehaved with the cabin crew. He was handed over to the police upon the arrival of the flight informed the airline authorities on Wednesday.

The passenger had reportedly consumed alcohol and was found to behave in an unruly manner as per the aviation protocols, said the airlines authority. As soon as the flight landed at Kolkata, he was handed over to the police and a complaint against him was lodged as per the relevant sections of BNS.

The IndiGo Spokesperson said, “We are aware of an incident of unruly behaviour onboard IndiGo flight 6E 6571 operating from Delhi to Kolkata on 01 September 2025. One of the customers onboard, under the influence of alcohol, was found to be misbehaving with the cabin crew and disturbing fellow passengers. In line with established protocols, the said customer was declared unruly and was handed over to security upon arrival. A formal complaint was also lodged with the relevant authorities.”

However, the passenger has denied any allegations of misbehaviour and in return lodged a couner-complaint against the airline.

Several media reports said that the flyer on the 31D seat was in an inebriated condition and after boarding the flight asked the fellow passengers to chant ‘Har Har Mahadev.’ After the take off he sipped on an intoxicant in a soft drink bottle.

On being questioned, he gulped the drink. Later he said that he greeted the cabin crew by the chants and had no intention of disrespecting any religion.
