Couple buries 4th child under rock over losing govt job in Madhya Pradesh, child survives

3-day-old baby was found buried under a rock in a forest in Madhya Pradesh's Chindwara and was left to die by his parents

Chindwara(MP): In a shocking incident, a 3-day-old baby was found buried under a rock in a forest in Madhya Pradesh’s Chindwara and was left to die by his parents.

The newborn baby was abandoned by the parents, Bablu Dandoliya, a government teacher, and Rajkumari Dandoliya who are both government employees,  due to fear of losing their jobs after having a fourth child.

The incident came to light on Sunday night in Nandanwadi village when a passerby noticed the newborn lying near rocks in the forest close to Road Ghat. The passerby approached the area and removed the stone, finding the bloodied, shivering infant alive with ants crawling on his skin.

He informed the police, which arrived at the scene and rescued the infant. The baby was taken to a local health center for initial treatment and then referred to the district hospital for further care.

On being questioned by the police, the couple confessed to their act  and they said they feared suspension or dismissal from their teaching positions because of the fourth child and hence took this step.
