Assam: The Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma had promised a detailed probe into the death of popular singer Zubeen Garg on Wednesday and shared an X post in this regard.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “In regard to the untimely death of our beloved Zubeen Garg, we will not spare anyone. Today, I had a meeting with the DGP Assam Police and the ADGP, CID, along with senior officers, including the Chief Secretary, Assam.”

He further added, “I have instructed the DGP to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) with the best officers of Assam Police. The viscera samples will be sent to the Central Forensic Laboratory (CFL), Delhi, for detailed examination.”

The Assam CM further added, “The SIT will have full freedom to investigate the case with complete professional integrity.”

On September 19, in a shocking incident, renowned singer Zubeen Garg who was on a vacation in Singapore passed away following a tragic scuba diving accident. According to reports, Singapore police rescued him and rushed him to a nearby hospital.

However in spite of being treated immediately, doctors could not save him.
