Karnataka: In a shocking incident, a 35 year old man lost his life after jumping from an escalator inside a popular mall on Magadi Road in Bengaluru. The incident happened on Monday morning on the third floor of GT mall.

According to the reports, the man had been struggling with depression for several years and was receiving treatment at NIMHANS. He had also tried to end his life once before in June last year, by jumping in front of a train at Hosahalli Metro station but survived that attempt.

On Monday, he reportedly left home quietly without informing his parents and even left his phone behind. Later, he went to the mall, climbed up to the third floor and jumped from the escalator to the ground level. He suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.
