Mumbai: Coldplay’s much-awaited India concert began in Mumbai on January 18, and fans are still reeling from the excitement. The frontman of the band, Chris Martin, won over the crowd when he spoke in Hindi, sending the fans into a frenzy. There was a viral video of Chris reading a fan’s handmade sign in Hindi and responding with “Jai Shree Ram,” which erupted the crowd in cheers.

However, that was not the first time Chris demonstrated his fluency in Hindi. He was on stage, and right after he said “Aap sabka bohot swagat hai” (welcome, everyone), and went on to tell how thrilled he was to be performing in Mumbai as “Mumbai mein aakar humein bohot Khushi ho rahi hai” (we are really happy to be in Mumbai). The crowd roared and cheered with delight.

This will be the first time Coldplay will be performing in India since their Global Citizen Festival performance in 2016. The band has announced three performances at D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, and will also perform at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26, 2025.

Chris Martin has reached Mumbai on Thursday with his girlfriend Dakota Johnson, and they created a new story by going to Shri Babulnath Temple. Dakota was seen in Siddhivinayak Temple also at Mumbai alongside two Bollywood actresss Sonali Bendre and Gayatri Oberoi.
