Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 crosses 100 crore mark in just two days

‘Kantara Chapter 1’, released worldwide on October 2, 2025 has taken the box office by storm, crossing Rs.100 crore in India within just two days.

On its opening day, the film earned Rs.61.85 crore across languages Kannada contributed Rs.19.6 crore, Telugu Rs.13 crore, Hindi Rs.18.5 crore, Tamil Rs.5.5 crore and Malayalam Rs.5.25 crore. Globally, the film recorded an impressive gross of around Rs.89 crore.

As per the reports, the strong momentum continued on day two, with collections estimated at Rs.43.65 crore, pushing the India net collection to Rs.105.5 crore in just 48 hours.

Praised for its mix of culture, nature and folklore, the film has created a festive mood in cinemas, particularly in Karnataka. Additional shows in several regions indicate the growing hype, and trade experts predict even bigger numbers over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari saw a dip in numbers on its second day but moved closer to the Rs.15 crore mark in the domestic market.

On Friday (October 3, 2025), the film recorded an overall occupancy of 18.01%, with morning shows at 9.06%, afternoon at 17.44%, evening at 18.33% and night shows peaking at 27.20%.
