Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Netflix romantic comedy Nadaaniyan was one of the most talked about projects before its release.
Directed by Shauna Gautam, produced by Karan Johar and featuring a strong supporting cast including Suniel Shetty, Jugal Hansraj, Dia Mirza and Mahima Chaudhry, the film was expected to mark a grand debut for Ibrahim. However, when it finally released, the response was far from what everyone had hoped for.
The movie received poor reviews from both critics and viewers, who felt that the story and performances were weak. What was supposed to be Ibrahim’s big launch ended up drawing widespread trolling on social media.
In a recent interview, Ibrahim finally opened up about how the failure affected him. He admitted that the harsh criticism was difficult to handle and that it felt like a major low point in his career.
He also accepted that Nadaaniyan was not a good film and said that the trolling became a sort of trend. “People were mocking it just because others were doing so,” he added.
Further, Ibrahim shared that he has been working hard to improve himself and believes that he might have taken up the project too early in his career.
He started shooting for Nadaaniyan when he was only 21, while most actors, he noted, take on such big projects later in life after gaining more experience.
Despite the setback, he remains determined to prove himself in future projects. He said he hopes that when he delivers a hit someday, the audience will show the same level of excitement and energy, but this time in a positive way.
