Drishyam 3 Makers to Sue Akshaye Khanna after fallout over fees, wig demand; Jaideep Ahlawat Replaces Him
The makers of Drishyam 3 are set to take legal action against actor Akshaye Khanna following his sudden exit from the much-anticipated sequel.
Mumbai: The makers of Drishyam 3 are set to take legal action against actor Akshaye Khanna following his sudden exit from the much-anticipated sequel. According to sources, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak has accused the actor of unprofessional conduct, repeated fee renegotiations and last-minute withdrawal despite signing a formal agreement.
Speaking to the media, Pathak revealed that Akshaye Khanna’s remuneration was finalised after multiple rounds of negotiation. He also claimed that the actor insisted on wearing a wig for the film, a demand initially rejected due to continuity issues, as Drishyam 3 begins right after Drishyam 2. Although the director later agreed to discuss the issue, Akshaye allegedly decided to quit the film altogether.
Pathak further alleged that the actor renegotiated his salary three times after the success of Dhurandhar and eventually stopped taking calls just days before his shoot, causing financial losses to the production. He also dismissed claims of Akshaye’s stardom, stating that the success of ensemble films cannot be attributed to one actor alone.
Confirming legal action, the producer said a notice has already been sent to Akshaye Khanna. Meanwhile, the Drishyam franchise moves on, with Jaideep Ahlawat stepping into the role.
