The First Recharge Coupons (FRCs) are basically prepaid plans that keep can active the services on your SIM cards. It is not well known as now-a-days the telecom has made almost every plan a first recharge coupon. According to Airtel, users can keep their SIM active with a recharge of a voucher that costs Rs 128 or more. If this condition is met, then the SIM will be activated. This type of plan comes in handy when you only need to keep the SIM activate for a period.

The Airtel’s First Recharge Coupons price is much less than the minimum recharge plan that the telcos offer. For your information, Airtel’s minimum recharge plan costs Rs 199.

How does the FRCs affects Activation/Deactivation of SIM cards

Now, let’s talk about the deactivation rules. Here are the deactivation rules for Airtel SIM card in 2025.

According to Airtel, the telcos can suspend services on the SIM of customers who have not recharged their SIM cards with the minimum required voucher or maintained Rs 20 balance on their main account for a period of 90 days. The services will also be deactivated if there is no outgoing, incoming call or SMS from the SIM.

The official release reads, “The mobile connection will be deactivated if there is no voice/ video call (outgoing or incoming) or an outgoing SMS or a data session (upload or download) or usage of Value Added Services, for a continuous period of 90 days and in case the main account balance is less than Rs. 20/-, at the discretion of Airtel.”

However, Airtel does not jump into action after the 90 days period, the users will be given a grace period of 15 days to recharge with a necessary plan to activate services on their SIM. The customer can then pay Rs 20 to get back access to the SIM during the grace period.

When there is balance in the account, every 30 days, Airtel will keep charging Rs 20 to keep the number.
