Tesla Model Y deliveries commences officially in India

Tesla has officially commenced deliveries of the Model Y in India. Tesla made its debut in the Indian automobile market in July. The company declared that the first set of customers received their cars on 29 September.

According to sources, the new buyers of the Model Y will also receive a complimentary Tesla Wall Connector that will help them in charging the car at home.

The company has set up charging stations in Mumbai and Delhi. The charging stations include both V4 Superchargers and AC Destination Chargers.

The Model Y comes in two variants of Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive. The Rear Wheel Drive variant of the Model Y is priced at Rs. 59.89 lakh and the Long Range version costs Rs. 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The standard RWD delivers a WLTP range of 500km, with a 0-100kmph time of 5.9 seconds, while the Long Range version pushes the range up to 622km, and achieves 0-100kmph in 5.6 seconds.

According to company claims, the Model Y car at peak charging efficiency of 250kW, can reach up to 267km in just 15 minutes.

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) package is available for customers at an additional cost of Rs 6 lakh over the base prices.

The Model Y is available in six colour options- Stealth Grey, Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Ultra Red, Quicksilver, and Glacier Blue.

On the interior buyers can choose between white and black themes.

Customers can place their orders through Tesla’s official website, or visit the brand’s experience centres located in Mumbai and Delhi.

Tesla entered India’s automobile market in 2025 with the launch of Tesla Model Y and the prices start at nearly Rs 60 lakh.

Tesla Model Y was first delivered to the Transport Minister of Maharashtra, Pratap Baburao Sarnaik on the first week of last month. The Minister received the first unit of Tesla Model Y from the showroom in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.
