Royal Enfield has put on hold the sales of Royal Enfield Scram 440 in India, mentioned Autocar India in its report. Interested buyers have a wait for some unexpected period of time in order to purchase the motorcycle. The booking for the motorcycle has also been ceased in India.
The decision of the company to put on hold the Scram 440 sales in India is due to an issue with engine starting. The issue was observed on some units of the model in India, where the engine failed to start after running for some time. However, the engine does not stall during the middle of a ride (which might have been a blunder). According to sources close to Autocar the issue is due to component called the Woodruff key within the magento.
The Royal Enfield Scram 440 was launched in November 2025 and deliveries started in 2025. It is expected that the motorcycle be available for booking and sale by June 2025.
