The Volkswagen Tiguan R Live SUV has been launched in India and the introductory price is Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). For those who are unknown, this version of the SUV is the third-gen Tiguan and it is just offered in a single R Line variant. It is offered as a total CBU import.
The Volkswagen Tiguan R Line offers signature ‘R’ badging on the interior as well as on the interior. We get a prominent R badging on the front grille and that offers a specific identity about the variant. The SUV gets 19-inch alloy wheels while in the interior they get signature ‘R’ badging on the seats. The seats also have massage function along with lumbar support for more comfort. The infotainment system gets the latest version of the company’s MIB4 software platform through over-the-air updates.
On the other hand, the panoramic sunroof offers better ambience. In the interior we get ambient lighting with 30 colour options, automatic climate control system, illuminated inserts and much more. Reports have revealed that 6 colour options that will be available on the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan R Line and that include- Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White with Mother of Pearl Effect, and Oyster Silver Metallic. In terms of safety, the SUV gets Level 2 ADAS, stainless steel pedas, wireless charging for up to 2 phones, and much more.
The Volkswagen Tiguan R Line is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 201hp of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque. The SUV gets 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission along with 4MOTION all-wheel drive (AWD). Tiguan R Line can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 7.1 seconds while the top speed will be 229 kmph. Fuel efficiency of the SUV is claimed to be 12.58kmpl.
