According to the report, there will be an inclusion of electric power steering. There will be 2.8-litre diesel engine with 201 hp output. It also gets a 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. There is a possibility that Toyota might offer a 2.4-litre i-Force Max hybrid that will be brought from Tacoma. The power output is 326hp. A Plug-in hybrid version might be offered in 2026.
When it comes to design, the new Toyota Hilux is expected to offer a taller front grille with slender headlamps and possibly LED light strip. At the core, the pickup truck is expected to offer an IMV ladder frame setup.
Toyota price cut in India (GST 2.0)
The maximum price cut due to GST 2.0 is available on Fortuner and Hilux models.
After the price cut, the Toyota Fortuner starts from Rs 33.65 lakh for the 4×2 MT Petrol variant while the top GRS variant costs Rs 48.85 lakh. This means that the price cut ranges from Rs 2.40 lakh to Rs 3.49 lakh in India. The Hilux, now starts from Rs 28.02 lakh for the STD MT variant while the top High AT variant costs Rs 35.37 lakh. This means that the price cut ranges from Rs 2.38 lakh to Rs 2.53 lakh in India.
