The Tesla CEO is currently the richest person on the planet with a worth $500.1 billion. In December, he become the first person ever with net worth of over $400 billion. Now, he has added another milestone to his riches with worth $500.1 billion.
Following Musk is runner-up Larry Ellison, the co-founder of Oracle, who has a net worth of over $150 billion.
The former advisor to US President Donald Trump is currently the CEO of electric vehicle manufacturing company Tesla, which mainly adds billions to his accounts. According to sources, he hold over a 12.4 per cent stake of Tesla as of September 15.
The company’s stock has risen more than 14 per cent so far this year and climbed by nearly 4 per cent on Wednesday, adding an estimated $9.3 billion to Musk’s fortune.
Apart from Tesla, Musk’s half-trillion-dollar fortune was derived from his AI startup xAI and rocket company SpaceX this year.
If his fortune maintains the growth pace, Musk could become the world’s first trillionaire before March 2033, when the first of two vesting dates for his $1 trillion Tesla pay package hits, according to the Forbes report.
